Auckland Central Green Storm

Join us and be part of the Greens' ground campaign in Auckland Central.

This year, we have an incredible opportunity to form the heart of a progressive government. Together we can get a Green government elected and do what National have failed to - tackle climate change, the state of our rivers, and lift the well-being of families. We’d like to invite you to join us in making this happen.

Come along and hear about what we’re doing here in Auckland ahead of the September election. Join us to learn how you can help us get more Greens elected this election.

There are hundreds of ways you can help. Your support in our volunteer-led campaign is crucial to the Green Party being strong enough in Government to address climate change and lift kids out of poverty.

RSVP to let us know you're coming.

Christchurch: Chloe Swarbrick Green Party Candidate

Guest Speaker 7.30pm Chloe Swarbrick Green Party Candidate - from the Auckland Mayoralty Campaign to the Green Party Campaign

As a journalist finishing a law degree in late 2015, Chlöe Swarbrick, aged 22,  never saw herself becoming a politician.  Horrendously low voter turnout convinced her to enter the Auckland Mayoralty race in 2016 in order to engage the disengaged and disenfranchised. With a tiny budget and a lot of help from like-minded volunteers, she came in third, with just under 30,000 votes.
Chlöe put herself forward as a Green Party Candidate for the 2017 election because it was the party that shared her values of compassion, pragmatism, equality and hope. Chloe will be campaigning hard for the Party Vote on the same issues that resonated with Aucklanders during her mayoral campaign - housing, transport and chronic homelessness. At the same time she is juggling a number of small businesses, including a donut shop.

All Welcome (Venue seats 40/capacity is 70)

Waimakariri AGM with John Hart

You are warmly invited to hear and ask questions of John Hart, a Green candidate who, with his wife, runs a 20 hectare organic sheep and beef farm near Masterton.  John is a strong advocate for building better relationships between Greens and the farming sector.  He has a real chance of entering Parliament in 2017.

After a cuppa & snack, we will hold our branch AGM.  This is a great opportunity to step forward and get involved in a lively Green Party campaign - come and hear all about it!   We are working with the Aoraki Provincial Green team on new ways of contacting Green supporters and volunteers in our electorate and we expect this to be a great meeting.

Please bring a plate.

Climate Change and Indigenous Rights Kōrero with Māori Greens

Two of the Green Party's amazing Māori candidates for the 2017 general election, Jack McDonald and Elizabeth Kerekere, are coming to Vic this Thursday to talk to students about climate change and indigenous rights! Come along to the Hunter Lounge, grab a beer and hear what Jack and Elizabeth have to say about the role Māori have in solutions to climate change, and how important it is that we honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi in order to prevent this environmental crisis that the indigenous peoples of this planet had no part in creating.

Auckland: Media Training for Candidates

Build understanding of rules for dealing with media interviews / saying what you need to say succinctly in a pressured situation.

The session will be led John McRae who is a communications consultant and experienced media trainer.  As this is an interactive session we will work in smaller groups.

Auckland: The Great Green Shore Change - Get Involved!

The countdown is on for Election 2017! This is our best chance yet to get the Greens into government - the greater the number of Green party votes, the greener the next government will be, and the better position we'll be in to work towards a Green vision for Aotearoa New Zealand.

This is where it all starts! Whoever you are, whatever your background is, come along to this introductory event for all volunteers on the Shore. You'll get an overview of our campaign strategy for North Shore, Northcote, Upper Harbour and East Coast Bays electorates, then we'll work together to put that strategy into action.

There'll be fantastic company, including our Shore candidates - Green MP Kennedy Graham, sustainable housing advocate James Goodhue and health expert Dr Rebekah Jaung - as well as special guests Chlöe Swarbrick and Golriz Ghahraman.

Whether you've never volunteered before, or you're one of our much-appreciated long-timers, we would love to have you here.

For 25 years the Green Party has been ahead of the mainstream. Now it is our responsibility to help everyone understand why being Green is the only way to create a fairer, cleaner, smarter, more prosperous and sustainable future for Aotearoa New Zealand.

Auckland: Fundraising Training for Campaign Teams

Putting the fun back into fundraising:

Ever noticed how little kids can ask for anything yet we developed adults struggle to ask for the support our campaigns needs?

We have been subtly socialized not to ask!

Exploring the application of contemporary fundraising theory this very hands on workshop will retrain our brains and develop strategies for improving fundraising performance and developing friend and fundraising events.

John Stansfield is a senior lecturer in community development. He has taught and researched community funding both in NZ and overseas. John promises a fun workshop packed with activities and accessible skills.
